Looking back…to our stint on TV!

Sometimes, it’s good to take a pause to look back at some of the milestones and happenings in your business, and recently we found an archived story about our involvement in TV’s 60 minute makeover.

It was 2010 when we were approached by ITV about getting involved in the show and donating a piece of equipment, which in this case was a set of parallel bars to aid walking and recovery.

The premise of the show, was that each day a professional designer and a team of handymen and women would transform homes across the UK.  They surprised some of the most deserving people in the country who had been nominated by friends or family members because they have had a really hard time – with recent illness or bereavement or deserve the makeover for some other reason like their charity or community work. 

The 60 minute team create stylish transformations using quality furniture, wall coverings, soft furnishings and accessories, all in just 60 minutes.

The lady featured in our episode was suffering with severe MS and her physio and trainer were trying to help restore some mobility. The one piece of her equipment her physio specifically asked for was a set of foldaway parallel bars in a newly transformed gym/therapy room.

We received the following testimonial from ITV, after the parallel bars were fitted.

“I just wanted to email you to say a massive thank you for donating the parallel bars for the makeover in Harrogate last week – everyone was thrilled by the makeover, especially Sandra (who was being surprised) and her physio and trainer who are both as determined as Sandra to get her walking again! They really were a massive feature of the room and the day even exceeded the designer's expectations.”

The show was a great success, and we were delighted to offer our equipment and expertise in helping the ITV team create a very successful episode of the show. More than that, it was a real pleasure seeing how Sandra reacted with delight to her new Gym.
