The Able Assist Adjustable Transfer Aid is intended for people who can stand up from a seated position and wish to take part in the movement. Its narrow frame is sized to pass through standard doorways, while the set of four wheels keeps manoeuvring smoothly and predictably. Two of the castors include brakes so the carer can lock the aid in place during a transfer or when stationary by a toilet.

Support for the user comes from a padded knee pad and a horizontal handle at a comfortable height, giving something solid to lean on and hold. The legs of the aid can be widened with a simple push-down pedal to increase the base of support, helping to improve steadiness while the user stands and shifts weight during the transfer.

Practical everyday use is considered in the build and layout: the compact footprint and castors make it easy to push between rooms and position next to sanitary fixtures, preserving the user’s privacy.
