The Drive Phantom Self-Propelled Wheelchair uses a lightweight aluminium frame with a single cross brace to give a balance of strength and portability. It supports a maximum user weight of 135 kg (21 stone), yet the unit itself remains light at around 13.8 kg, making it easier to lift into a car or move around the home. The chair is self-propelled so users can move independently, and it can be pushed by an attendant when needed.

Comfort is central to the Phantom. The chair has a well-padded seat and back upholstery that is removable for cleaning, plus padded armrests that drop down to help with transfers. The armrests also feature push-button angle adjustment so you can set a comfortable working height. Foot support comes from angle and height-adjustable footrests that swing away and adjust without tools.

Handling and stability are helped by large pneumatic 610 mm rear wheels and solid 175 mm front castors, which smooth the ride over uneven surfaces. Long-reaching manual brakes are positioned so either the user or an attendant can park the chair securely. For storage and transport the chair uses a half-fold mechanism to reduce its footprint, and stepper tubes allow an attendant to raise the front wheels to mount kerbs safely.
