The Apollo 8 Mattress is a high-performance alternating pressure replacement system engineered for users at Very High Risk of developing pressure ulcers or those with existing tissue damage up to grade 4. It features a patented “cell-in-cell” configuration comprising 17 ‘figure‑of‑8’ active cells plus 3 static head cells, providing tailored pressure redistribution and ensuring ultra-low interface pressures while promoting gentle capillary stimulation. Designed for maximum comfort and clinical effectiveness, the mattress includes humidity management to reduce skin maceration and shear forces, and adapts manually to the user's body shape and weight with adjustable settings for personalised pressure care. Infection control is simplified through its welded, waterproof PU cover—which resists fluid ingress, meets BS 7175 Crib 5 fire safety standards, and is washable up to 95 °C—alongside removable, quick-release cells and external air filters to assist servicing and maintenance. Safety features include both audible and visual alarms, a timed static mode for stable handling transfers, auto-lockout functionality, and a rapid-deflation (CPR) valve for emergency access—all controlled via an intuitive, easy-to-use pump system. With a maximum user weight capacity of 200 kgs (31.5 stone), the Apollo 8™ Mattress delivers robust, adaptable pressure care in demanding healthcare, care home, and community environments.
