The Apollo 5 Plus is an advanced dynamic replacement mattress expertly designed for individuals at high risk of developing pressure ulcers, as well as those with existing tissue damage (grades 1–4). Manufactured with a single set of alternating air cells mounted on a covered foam base, this mattress combines effective pressure redistribution with essential support and comfort. The mattress accommodates users weighing up to 31.5 stones (200 kgs), offering adjustable weight settings and manual adaptation to the individual’s body shape and position to ensure optimal care. Its dynamic therapy provides lower interface pressures and gentle capillary stimulation, while integrated humidity management reduces risk of maceration and skin breakdown. Hygiene and infection control are prioritised through a waterproof, vapour-permeable, multi-stretch PU cover that meets BS 7175 Crib 5 fire safety standards and is resistant to bacteria and viruses, including MRSA. The cover is removable and washable up to 95 °C, and the cells and connectors are designed for easy servicing and lower maintenance costs. Key safety features include a static mode for safe transfers, quick-access CPR deflation valve, and both audio and visual alarms for low pressure or power failure.
