The Alerta Air Heel Bootees are sold as a pair and help to reduce pressure on the heels when a patient is lying in bed thus reducing the risk of pressure ulceration and injury to the foot, for those users assessed to be very high risk. The heel itself is supported at the side by air-filled sacs, with a hollow immediately beneath it, therefore, ensuring it is exposed to zero pressure. These Air Heel Boots are supplied with a pump to allow the user to select the perfect amount of support and compression for their needs. Clinical studies have shown heel protectors to be effective in a wide variety of settings.
