Nutrix: Voice Alert with Chair Mat

This Nutrix Voice Alert System with Chair Mat is allows a carer or relative to record some simple instructions in a voice that is familiar to the patient, which is known to help reduce anxiety and confusion in those patients living with Dementia. The impact of noise on people with Dementia is particularly important in a care setting. Dementia often alters how the person perceives external stimuli, such as noise and light, and as hearing is linked to balance, this also leads to a greater risk of falls. This can come from a loss of balance or an increase in disorientation in an overstimulating and noisy environment. This versatile item has different modes, allowing the caregiver to ensure a variety of situations can be aided with this one nurse alert system. As well as the ability to detect movement with the magnetic pull cord, it can raise the alarm when a patient either removes or applies pressure to a sensor mat. Sensor mats work by detecting the change in pressure applied to them and they can be set to either pressure-on or pressure-off mode.
