Detailed description

The Mangar Archimedes Bath Lift is a powered bathing aid with a comfortable back support designed to make bathing easier and more dignified. At the touch of a button on the fully waterproof handset, the lift gently lowers you towards the base of the bath and raises you back up again. When in its lowest position the seat sits just 80 mm (3") from the bath base, helping you to sit or lie more naturally while bathing.

Safety is built into the Archimedes with a battery protection feature that will not allow lowering unless there is enough charge to raise the user again, reducing the risk of becoming stranded in the bath. The unit is supported by a stable base section and a separate actuator that powers the lifting action. The lift accommodates users up to 165 kg (26 stone) and provides reassuring support during transfers in and out of the bath.

Installation is straightforward and the Archimedes is designed to suit the majority of baths. For occasions when the lift is not needed it splits into three compact sections—the seat section, base section and actuator—making it easy to remove and store or to take away on holiday. The separate sections are relatively light, aiding handling and transport.

Controls are intentionally simple to use. The fully waterproof handset gives clear up and down control so the user or carer can operate the lift easily. The construction focuses on practical comfort and durability so the lift performs reliably for everyday bathing needs.
