The Alerta Sensaflex 500 is a low-risk pressure mattress built around castellated foam construction to offer everyday comfort and support. Its shape helps with gentle pressure redistribution while remaining comfortable for regular use. The mattress is designed for use in hospital, nursing and care home environments as well as domestic care situations and suits a single bed application.

The removable cover is a multi-stretch, vapour permeable PU cover with a water-resistant surface and an antimicrobial finish on the underside. You can machine wash the cover at 65°C for at least 10 minutes or at 95°C for at least 3 minutes, and it may be tumble dried on low heat provided the temperature does not exceed 60°C. The foam component can be sterilised by autoclaving at 134°C where required.

For safety and compliance the mattress is fire resistant to BS7177: Crib 5, offering reassurance for use in regulated care settings. Its straightforward design focuses on practical daily use and value, making it a sensible choice when a low-risk pressure mattress is needed without specialist features.
