Getting out more on Crisp Autumn days

With Autumn just beginning to show, there are few days as lovely to start making plans for days out and visits to parks and scenic attractions, whilst enjoying the benefits of cooler fresh air.

Of course, for most of us, our mobility is not something we worry too much about and we can get out and about without really thinking about it too much.

But if, for whatever reason, your mobility in recent years is not what it was, but you still love getting out there, the good news is that there are a plethora of mobility aids to help you make the most of the season and ensure that you don’t miss out.

How can a mobility scooter help me?

Whether it’s due to pride, or maybe a little bit of taboo surrounding mobility scooters, many people are still a little afraid to admit they may need one and find the idea of using one quite unwelcome.

That said, many retail outlets, garden centres and attractions hire them out quite successfully to users who realise covering the distance of the premises is getting a little too much for them.

In actual fact, there are more options for mobility scooters than ever before, and these models adapt to so many scenarios, not just for permanent long-term use.

Thinking of the Autumn season particularly, at this time of year, folding mobility scooters can really come into their own, as they allow the flexibility for use when travelling to and from destinations with easy storage in car boots, and equally storage in the home when not in use.

The benefit is that when you are say, visiting a place that has quite a distance to cover, like a National Trust property, you can visit with the reassurance and peace of mind that you have a piece of equipment to rely on that means you can get around with total ease, and get full enjoyment from your visit.

It also means that if you are with younger family members, you are not in the position of having to slow the group down too much with regular rest stops or moving along too slowly.

It makes for more pleasant outings where you can be yourself and get around anywhere that takes your fancy without the inconvenience.

When you’re done, you simply fold up, lift into the boot of the car and off you go again to your next adventure.

What other mobility aids can help me get around?

The great news is that even if you’re not wanting to purchase a mobility scooter, there are still many great options available, such as walkers, walking sticks, walking frames or rollators.

In fact, there are many hundreds of products that can make your life easier and enable you to get out and about more with less hassle.

Walkers often have a bag for carrying personal effects and shopping, so it’s a really handy piece of kit for making your Autumn outings easier and less having to put items down and potentially losing them.

With walking aids, such as Rollators and Walkers, it’s the reassurance and piece of mind that comes from having much better balance and enabling you to walk across multiple terrains without having to worry about losing balance or self-confidence.
